Options for Large Meetings (300+ users)

Your UW Zoom account can host up to 300 simultaneous users in a meeting. But what if you will have more than 300? Here are your options.

Option 1: Use LT Team’s 1000 user license

Cost: Using our team’s 1000 user license is available only for iSchool-related events, for free.

Good for:

  • hosting events with up to 1000 users

  • providing participation options for attendees (e.g. raise hands and unmute, ask questions via Zoom chat, go into breakout rooms, etc)

How: Please fill out our Streaming Support Request form, indicate that your event will have more than 300 users, and submit it. An LT team member will create the meeting URL that you can then distribute to your attendees.

Option 2: Stream to YouTube

Cost: Free

Good for:

  • unlimited number of attendees (attendees will watch by going to the YouTube URL; only presenters will join the Zoom meeting room)

  • limiting how you want attendees to participate (since attendees won’t be in the Zoom meeting, they won’t be able to turn on their camera, unmute, ask questions via Zoom chat, etc)

How: You can set up live streaming to YouTube from your own UW Zoom account. See your Stream to YouTube guide.

Option 3: Purchase a Zoom Add-On

You can purchase a Zoom add-on for your UW Zoom account through UW IT. Price varies depending on how many simultaneous users you want and whether you prefer the large meeting vs webinar add-ons.
