Accessibility

It’s important to have your course be accessible by all students, with or without disabilities. Making your course and course content accessible goes a long way to ensure that all students are able to participate and complete your course successfully.

Tips

  1. Clear, consistent formatting across your course pages.

  2. Clear structure and course organization.

  3. Nest headings by rank.

  4. Descriptive alt text for images.

  5. Good contrast between text and background for legibility.

  6. Descriptive link text instead of “click here”.

  7. Accessible slides, readings, etc.

  8. Captions for lectures and videos.

  9. Record live lectures for those who can’t attend.
