Canvas Overview

The below video is an excellent demonstration of how helpful the Canvas Dashboard Views are and how to use The Global Navigation Menu and Course Interface.

1. Canvas Dashboard Views provide great ways to stay on track of your courses from a single place. Using different views, you can check for new announcements, discussion posts, course grades, and more.
2. The Global Navigation Menu is used to access all kinds of tools like your profile settings, the courses and groups you're in, course calendars and more.
3. The Course Interface has a To Do List, and and other ways to track course activity.

Template Types

The video below will demonstrate two common types of Canvas Home pages you'll likely see at the iSchool, and show how to navigate each as they're a little different.

Find Course Recordings

If you don't see course recordings linked from the course schedule or module pages, there are a few other places you can check. iSchool instructors usually record classes or lectures using Panopto, VoiceThread, or Zoom Cloud.

To find Panopto recordings, click on Panopto Recordings link on the left sidebar of your course.

To find VoiceThread recordings, click on Course VoiceThreads link on the left sidebar of your course.

To find Zoom Cloud recordings, click on Zoom link on the left sidebar of your course, then click on the Cloud Recordings tab.
