Dear Parents/Guardians and Students:

Welcome to the exciting world of Spanish! It is my absolute pleasure to be your child's teacher this school year. Born on the tropical island of Puerto Rico, I have had the wonderful opportunity to live in the United States for the past nineteen years. I look forward to getting to know you and your child, and I am committed to being a patient, caring advocate for every student's learning journey.

Having spoken Spanish since childhood, I love teaching the language and recognize that becoming bilingual is an essential tool for lifelong success. Languages open doors to countless opportunities. In fact, Spanish is the second most spoken language in the United States and the fourth most spoken worldwide, after English, Mandarin Chinese, and Hindi.

Your child has taken on a fantastic opportunity to explore the Spanish language and its rich, diverse cultures. My goal as their teacher is to help them build communicative competence by strengthening their skills across all four language domains: listening, speaking, reading, and writing. Additionally, this course will broaden their cultural awareness of Hispanic and Hispanic-American communities.

2. Complete all assignments on time and in the order assigned (all coursework is posted in Google Classroom).
