Welcome to 7th Grade ELA!

Dear Seventh Grade Students and Families,

Welcome to a brand-new school year! I am so excited to welcome you to seventh-grade English Language Arts. Whether you're feeling excited, nervous, or somewhere in between, I want you to know that I'm looking forward to getting to know each of you and making this a year filled with learning, laughter, and growth.

My name is Mrs. Williams, and this is my 34th year of teaching and my fourth year at The Villages Charter School. After many wonderful years in education, I am especially excited to begin this new chapter as a middle school ELA teacher. I truly believe seventh grade is such a special year, and I can't wait to share it with you!

One of the things I love most about English Language Arts is that it helps us discover who we are and better understand the world around us. Through reading, writing, speaking, and listening, we learn to think critically, communicate confidently, and appreciate different perspectives. These are skills you'll use not only in school but throughout your life. My hope is that you'll leave this class not only as stronger readers and writers but also as more confident learners.

Teaching has always been my passion because I love building relationships with students and watching them grow. Every one of you has unique talents, ideas, and experiences to share, and I want our classroom to be a place where you feel comfortable taking risks, asking questions, and celebrating your successes. We will work hard, encourage one another, and have plenty of fun along the way.

A little about me—I have been happily married for 14 years and am the proud mom of three amazing daughters and a precious grandson. Our family also includes two dogs, who always keep us entertained! I love spending time with my family, and they remind me every day how important kindness, patience, and laughter are.

As we begin this school year together, I hope you'll come with an open mind, a positive attitude, and a willingness to try your best. I promise to do the same. I am committed to helping each of you grow, encouraging you when things are challenging, and celebrating every success—big or small.
