Welcome to 7th Grade Physical Education! Listed below is pertinent information regarding my class:
The middle school physical education curriculum is designed to educate and condition students for a life of fitness and well-being. This course will introduce a variety of skills and sports, as well as many fitness components. The middle school physical education will integrate teamwork, sport specific skills, and social skills into all aspects of our daily routine.
ASSESSMENT
Students’ grades will be determined by using the following categories and percentages:
Practice (Fitness, Effort, Vocabulary, Locker) -- 30%
Mastery (Participation, Sportsmanship, Quiz/Test, Personal Best Growth Plans) -- 70%
Grading Scale: A (90-100) B (80-89) C (70-79) D (60-69) F (0-59)
CLASSROOM EXPECTATIONS/RULES
1. Be on time and where you are supposed to be. (Prompt)

5. Respect the rights, responsibility, and property of others. (Polite)
Required Items/Notes:
A combination lock is required for each locker. Please write your last name on the lock. Here are some examples of locks that you can purchase:
PE uniform
Shoes (if wearing ones other than school shoes) - NO CROCS - (If not wearing tennis shoes, student will be given an alternate activity/assignment)
Deodorant
Labeled PE clothes and sling bags
Shirt should have LAST NAME written on the back, large enough to read (can be printed at Custom Apparel, or can just be in black Sharpie)
Shorts should have LAST NAME on the outside of one leg, at the bottom, opposite side of the V.
Shoes, if separate for PE should have name on the inside of both shoes
Sling Bag should also have LAST NAME, FIRST INITIAL on the OUTSIDE of the sling bag!
This will be VERY helpful, but we will be doing this during the first week if necessary.
Make-up Work:
Absent students should check google classroom and the teacher connection website for make-up work. It is the student’s responsibility to complete classwork missed, turn in homework or, to request to take a missed test the day of their return from the absence.
Late Work:
Students are expected to complete all assignments and submit them on or before the day it is due. Any work submitted the day after it was due will earn, at best, a score of 60%. Work submitted two or more days after the due date will not be accepted.

High School Girls Soccer Tryout Information
When: Tuesday, October 14 - Thursday, October 16 (3 days of tryouts)
Location: Middleton Soccer Fields
Time: 3:30pm-5:00pm
Requirements for tryouts:
1. A minimum GPA of 2.0.
2. NEW Athletic Clearance Website* -- a valid physical uploaded WITH photocopies of the front/back of the insurance card on file.
If you have not set up your account please set it up by accessing Athletic Clearance/Instructions via www.tvcs.org → High School → Athletics → INSIDE ATHLETICS → Athletic Training → Athletic Clearance (More+ has Instructions) upper right corner
*Athletic Clearance Information: Parents/guardians of Student-Athletics MUST complete Athletic Clearance if they have not already done so. The Athletic Clearance MUST be done with a parent email and NOT with the students TVCS email account or personal email account. Athletic Clearances set up under a student email will be deleted because the parent will not get information when the account is set up under a student's email account.
3. Attend all three days of tryouts (contact Coaches if another sport interferes).

4. Soccer cleats, shin guards, soccer socks, black soccer shorts (no spandex/leggings), grey t-shirt, no jewelry should be worn at any tryouts, practices or games.
5. Bring your own water and/or sports drinks.
6. Parents/Guardians are required to pick up their student-athlete for 5:00pm sharp.
Coaches will be available at lunches at the high school and middle school (Middleton-only) in mid-to-late September for in-person sign-ups. If the student-athlete is unable to sign-up in person, they should complete the Google form using their student TVCS email address:
