Google Classroom (code will be given to students first day of school)
We will be using Google Classroom for important information and assignments. The most up-to-date information will be posted on Google Classroom!! Parents wanting to access their student's GC, will need to log in using their child's information. All assignments will be posted on the Google Calendar, which can be viewed below. (Advanced students will follow the calendar for Period 1; Regular students will follow the calendar for Period 6.)

First Quarter: Pre-history & Mesopotamia

Second Quarter: Ancient Egypt & The Israelites

Third Quarter: Ancient Greece & Ancient Rome

Fourth Quarter: Ancient South Asia & Ancient China, Japan, & Korea

My Yearbook (a.ka. Journalism) Class

Purpose: The staff will produce a yearbook for the students, the school, and the community that is a historical, reference book as well as a nostalgic memory book of people, student life, special events and current events.

About Me

This will be my 11th year teaching 6th grade here at VCMS, and it is my 17th year teaching middle schoolers. Even though I was born in Cocoa Beach, FL, I grew up in Western Pennsylvania (Go Steelers!), and I earned my secondary education degree at Penn State (WE ARE!). I have my Masters Degree in English from Slippery Rock University in Pennsylvania (yes, this is real place!). My husband Mike and I are high school sweethearts, and we lived in the Washington, D.C. area and Jupiter, FL before settling down with our 5 children here in Central Florida. This year, we will have a 3rd grader, a 7th grader, a high school sophomore, and a high school junior here at VCS, while our oldest child will be a college freshmen at the University of Florida (Go Gators!). I absolutely love working here and watching my children grow up with yours. GO BUFFALO!
