About Mrs. Louzon

My name is Allyson Louzon, and I am so excited for a great school year at The Villages Charter School. I grew up in Illinois, and I started dancing when I was five years old with ballet and tap lessons. I grew up spending as much time as I could at my dance studio and studying any style of dance that was available to me. I earned my bachelors in dance education from Illinois State University in 2015, and I spent my college years teaching dance in a studio setting and choreographing musicals for local high schools and summer theater programs. After college, I worked as a substitute teacher and Orchesis Dance Company assistant director at Oak Park and River Forest High School in Oak Park, Illinois. I moved to Florida in 2018, and I served as the dance teacher at Leesburg High School until December 2024. During my time at LHS, I took the dance program from a part time offering to a full time program, I partnered with parents and organizations in the community to provide performance opportunities for my students as well as building out a dance studio with mirrors and a sprung marley dance floor. I also started an Orchesis program, which allowed students the opportunity to choreograph and perform their own works in two formal dance concerts each year, and I started a chapter of National Honor Society for Dance Arts, which recognizes students for their achievements in dance. After my time at LHS, I served as the dance teacher at Freedom High School in Orlando from January-May 2025. I am excited to share my love of dance with the students at VCMS, and I can’t wait to help all of my students develop their talents and love of dance and see them shine on stage this year!
