Hello!

I am joining the Buffalo Ridge Middle School team as the Response to Intervention Specialist for the 2025-2026 school year. Last year, I taught ELA and Intensive Reading at the Middleton campus. Prior to that I spent 20+ years in Chicago as a high school teacher, elementary reading specialist, District Director of Literacy and Social Studies, instructional coach, Reading Recovery Coordinator, and elementary support principal. 

Response to Intervention, or RtI, is a core component of the Multi-Tiered System of Support (MTSS). MTSS is the educational framework we facilitate in order to ensure success for ALL students. The RtI component provides leveled interventions for students who need more than the core curriculum. RtI interventions can be in reading, math, science, or can be behavioral in nature.
