Mr. Black

Hello students and parents! I’m Mr. Black, one of the 7th grade Civics teachers at VCMS, and I’m excited for this school year. I’m from Columbus, Ohio, which gave me a love for the Ohio State Buckeyes, Cincinnati Reds, and Cleveland Browns.

I studied business and government in college and interned in the U.S. Senate during that time, which gave me a firsthand look at how our government operates. After college, I lived in New York for two years before moving to Florida five years ago where I met my now fiancee! We are getting married in the spring of next year and we can't wait. 

I’m fascinated by philosophy and government, and I look forward to exploring these topics in the classroom. My goal is to create a classroom where everyone feels heard and ideas matter.
