Sports Leaders
Our Sports Leaders:
Our Manifesto:
Our Sports Leader team has three main beliefs: dreaming, believing, and achieving. Our goal is to bring the Western House Academy community together through sports, helping others reach their full potential, and encouraging everyone to take care of their physical and emotional well-being. We think a leader is someone who shows endless possibilities, competes for success, enjoys sports for fun, and always tries their best. Our main values are to inspire and support our community through determination and ambition. As a team, we promise to be good role models for our peers, showing spirit, motivation, and belief. By doing this, we believe our school community can accomplish great things. Sports are a way of life that everyone can enjoy at Western House Academy.
Our roles as Sports Leaders include:
Running lunchtime activities
Being responsible for ensuring all equipment is looked after and not damaged.
Helping out in other year group lessons.
Running inter-schools competitions.
Attending school matches.
Running sports day with Mrs. Thomson.
Helping run sports week.
Promoting sports and our job roles.
Making sure we are positive role models.
Ensuring we are progressing other year group skills in the sports curriculum.
Autumn Term update:
During the Autumn Term Sports Leaders had the opportunity to help lead a Basketball tournament which was run at Western House Academy. Sports Leaders refereed the games themselves and also did a little coaching for other schools to help them progress on the day. We also discussed the opportunity in the Spring term to develop their leadership skills further by running Lunchtime activities for the younger children in the school.
