Sports Leaders

Our Sports Leaders:

Our Manifesto:

Our Sports Leader team believe in three core attitudes; to dream, to believe to achieve. Our mission is to unite Western House Academy through sport, to enable others to reach their highest capability and to push their boundaries by motivating our peers to show an interest in their physical and emotional wellbeing.

We believe that a leader is someone who demonstrates all endless possibilities, who competes for achievement, participates for fun and simply enjoys sport and tries their best. Our core values are to inspire and support our community through determination and ambition.

As a team we promise to be a team of role models for our peers demonstrating spirit, motivation and belief and through doing this we know that our school community can achieve big things.

Sport is a way of life; everyone can do it at Western House Academy.

Our roles as Sports Leaders include:

Autumn Term update:

'During the last term, our team of sports leaders have been organising different range of activities on the ball court such as football and basketball. We have been encouraging and assisting children to progress on their sport’s side of the curriculum during lunchtimes with those who are eager to learn. We have been arranging football tournaments and basketball matches. As a sports leader I have been helping Mrs. Thomson with the inventory and am managing equipment , making sure it is treated in the best possible way. We have been promoting the vitality and the importance of showing resilience and ambition since without those two, not a single person could progress further. We are not just promoting sport because we are told to; in fact, we promote because we have an intense love and passion for it and we want children to share and the understand this passion themselves.'

Spring Term update:

'As elected Sports Leaders, it is our responsibility to assist cultivating the sports side of the curriculum.  This term we have been influencing and developing the skills with the resources we have on the ball court and, soon, the field. Our supervisor, Mrs. Thomson, has given us some stationery and bibs to make it clear who is a sports leader and while hosting competitions. We also intend to help with P.E lessons in other years. In two terms, we have been refining other children’s skills and, as always, we maintain the equipment and make sure it is not misused.'

Summer Term update:
