Reading Ambassadors
Our Reading Ambassadors:
Our Manifesto:
Being a Reading Ambassadors of Western House Academy is a pleasure to us all. We are responsible for organising books and libraries and helping children with their reading and adding new and exciting books to the Accelerated Reader libraries. Our hopes are that young readers will find joy in reading and use libraries as a safe spot; a place to escape from the negatives. We would like every child to see it as their responsibility to look after the books in our school and keep the Accelerated Reader libraries neat and tidy.
We love listening to younger children read and we know that they enjoy it too.
Our roles as Reading Ambassadors include:
Tidy up and monitor the AR library, including labelling new stock.
Collect and sort Year1 Phonics Reading books.
Hear Year 1 readers on a weekly basis.
Work with Mrs Kearney to plan book events and new initiatives e.g., the book fair and World Book Day.
Autumn Term update:
We have been ensuring that our AR libraries are tidy and well stocked. We would like to remind everyone to enjoy their books and look after them!
