Zoomed & Cropped Shoe

The subject of my creation was that I had to make three different drawings of a shoe but each drawing I did, I had to zoom into it more and more. The artwork was made by using my reference - my three pure contour shoe drawings - and choosing a small part of one of the shoes and zooming in more and more. They way I was able to zoom in more and more was by using a piece of paper with a rectangle cut out of it, and using that piece of paper you would be able to outline the rectangle that you wanted to draw. After figuring out what part you want to draw, you then draw it on the other piece of paper and then do the same process with the new drawing (picking a new section of it and making it bigger). To make these drawings I used a HB pencil that I started lightly drawings and then once I had the rough outline of them, I then went back over it, pressing the pencil harder so it would leave darker lines and I made these drawings pure contour with only one line. I chose these drawings to zoom into because I wanted my drawings to have a lot of straight lines and in the second and third drawing that I zoomed in on it was mostly all straight lines with less and less curved lines. I wanted straight lines because in my opinion I think there is less room to mess up using straight lines and the three drawings would end up looking the same. One technique I used was that I used a ruler for all the lines that were straight. I did that so I wouldn't risk making making curved lines by accident. My project changed over time by at the beginning of each drawing, I overlapped lines multiple times but once I figured out the correct proportions I then erased all the extra lines and darkened the final one. After I made all three drawings I then picked one of them to draw again on a bigger piece of paper and I was able to add lines wherever I wanted to add more detail to the drawing. After that, in each different and unique shape I added a different zentangle to each section and included color using colored pencils.
