Eccentric Teapot

For this project, we had to take a generic object and then turn it into a teapot. I decided on turning a buoy into a teapot. I first made an oval-shaped ball of clay that I hallowed out that would store liquids. I then added one end of the buoy that wasn't hallow, acting as the handle. The other stem of the buoy was hollow, acting as the nozzle for the teapot. I was able to make the stem of the buoy hollow by rolling out a very thin slab of clay where I then wrapped around in a pencil, creating it hollow. I did not end up glazing this project due to it being destroyed by what believed to be the janitor accidentally bumping the broom into it and snapping the nozzle off of it.

This project had the potential to be good. However, even though it got ruined there were still a couple of things that I wished I done differently. To start, I wished that I made everything smaller but kept the same ratios with all the different aspects of the buoy. I also wish that I took more time smoothing everything out and avoid any small indents and fingerprints that make the difference from a good project to a great project.
