The subject of my creation is that I was assigned an artist, Rembrandt, and I was able to choose another artist that was Banksy. Rembrandt was an artist in the Renaissance era form 1400-1600 in Italy. Rembrandt was a biblical and mythological scenes, landscapes, and a lot of self-portraits, and dramatic light and darks character. He created at least 75 self portraits, he highlighted faces and hands and he also perfected etching. Banksy on the other hand, is still alive and is a street artist, that is anonymous england-based political activist. This artwork is created with sharpies and black pens. I chose this artwork because birds are mythological creatures and Rembrandt drew mythological creatures and birds represent freedom and the cages are the political view showing that freedom is getting limited.
One technique I used was first drawing with pencil and get the rough lines and once I was happy with it and then I went back through with the sharpies and pens to represent spray paint for banksy. Banksy usually used black for his drawings. My project evolved because it took me awhile to draw a bird that I actually liked. However, after a couple times of messing around drawing I decided to go with the one you see.
If I could change/revise one thing in the drawing would definitely be the cages and I could have made them more straight lines that could've been a lot nicer compared to the lines in the cage that are some thick and some thinner than others. I think if all the lines where straight and the same thickness it would look a lot nicer.
