This artwork is made by using a black and white scratch board and using two different type of tools, one that gives your multiple smaller lines at one time and the other one makes one precise line. I chose this image on the right because this was an image I took an it is from when we took a class trip to Quebec, Canada last May and we went to this huge waterfall flowing into a huge lake where trees surrounding it.
One technique I used was doin the grid method where I printed out the actual image and made a one inch by one inch grid and I did the same on the scratch board which helped me taking it one square at a time including all the detail. Another technique I used was trying to be smart about every line I do because you can't just go back and erase it, once you create the line in the paper, it doesn't go away. So for each new section I was about to create I took my time in assessing how I was going to draw it – what tool I wanted to use and what shade do I wanted to make it. My project evolved over time because at first when I was drawing some things I would finish it but then realize I made it too light and had to go back and add more lines to create a lighter shade.
If I could go back and change/revise anything about my artwork is that I would change the huge all white spot to the left of the tree because it is not fully white, and I should have left some black spots here and there. Another thing that I would revise/change is the water. to the left of the tree the water was at an angle and to the right of the tree the water was completely horizontal.
