Pure Contour

The subject of my hand creation was to draw a hand with a rubber band. I started this my hand drawing by lightly drawing simply shapes then going back over them and including details such as wrinkles, bumps, and indents and then after I was happy with the sketch of my hand and the rubber band I then went back a third time and darkened each line and some lines where darker than others to show the different levels of each line. I made the lines weigh differently so they can show what is in front and what is in the back. To draw the hand I used a mechanical pencil and in the beginning I lightly pressed down on the pencil so it was easier to erase but towards the end of my drawing I pressed harder down on the paper so the lines would be darker. One technique I used was to lightly draw in the beginning faces so that if I didn't like something or I wanted to change something it could be easy to erase and wouldn't show the indents in the paper even though I erased it. My project evolved over time mostly because of the thumb. I had to start over multiple times so I would be happy with the outcome and it would look proportional to the rest of my hand. This project relates to my life because it was my hand that I was drawing. If I could change one thing about my artwork it would my thumb. I want to change my thumb because I am still not satisfied with the outcome of it and I think I could do it better.

The subject of my shoe creations was that I had to draw shoes in three different perspectives. One perspective was the side of the shoe which was the drawing of the Ultra Boost. Another perspective was a birds eye view of the shoe which is the drawing of the vans. The last perspective I had to draw was a head on perspective of my shoe which is the slides. I created these drawings by using a mechanical pencil and at first I lightly drew the lines and once I was satisfied with my light drawing I then darkened the lines. I created these drawings by looking at my shoes, Ian shoes, and my slides. One technique I used was to lightly draw first so if I wanted to erase it, the lines wouldn't make an indent and still be there. One thing I revised or changed was in the drawing of the vans, at first I wasn't able to draw the shoe laces but then I decided to simplify them by tucking the ends of the shoelaces so it would be easier to draw. The story of my artwork was that I had to draw shoes in different perspectives. This project relates to my life because the shoes I drew where my shoes. If there was one thing I could change about my drawings was to fit the whole shoe in the drawing and not leave out the tip of my shoe because I started the drawing too much in the middle of the paper even though I had more room behind it.
