Soft Slab construction

This was our final project of this class but my favorite. The assignment was to make three cups, one with a handle, and two plates but I ended up making four cups because of simplistic it was. To make the cups, you just use the cut-out blueprints to trace the shape of the clay slabs then fold the clay together on top of another piece of clay, and then cut out the bottom. To make the plates, we were also given a blueprint that we let our slab drape over where the middle of the blueprint is hollow so gravity to shape the plate with a slight curve to it. I decided to split the project in where two cups and one plate was glazed in SM-21 "Dark Blue" and the other plate and two cups glazed in HF-1 "Black."

I honestly liked how all of six of the projects came out and didn't really have too much to change about them but one common thing. I think I should have spent more time just smoothing the outside and inside out just to make it more appealing. this is by far the most tedious part about this or any project, trying to make it completely smooth getting rid of finger indents or just random roughness but it truly does make all the difference in the world.
