Extended Blind Contour Drawing

Extended Blind Contour drawing

Printer paper, pencil, red watercolor

8.5" x 11"

The main idea that guided this artwork was the fact that it was scary to me. So, when extending this artwork I just decided to make it scarier. I tried to give the hand the affect of being dragged down, but I also decided to make the wrist squiggly just so that this scenario didn't seem so real. Same thing with the neck on the head, it was scary enough so I just gave it a weird neck as well.

This artwork was made first by the blind contour but then I added on to it. At first I didn't know what to add on to it but then I thought of this scary horror scene, which probably tells me I've been watching too much criminal minds. But, I did have a lot of fun adding on to this and even though it doesn't make perfect sense, I kind of like that about it. But I do feel like I could've added more to the second hand. I know it has potential but I just didn't see it at the time.

To make this I didn't practice or research but, I did revise and extend. Something I like about this is that my revisions are on the same piece of paper, I didn't redraw anything. I also like how even though the hand and the head are overlapping, it sort of makes this whole thing less organized. Extending this project was really fun and I would definitely do it again!
