Flowered Pots

For this project, we made two lidded pinch pots that have some element of unity. One pinch pot had to have a stand, and one pot had to have a handle. I didn't like the idea of a stand, so I made just one stand, but both of them have handles.
I had a hard time deciding what design I wanted to do for these but ended up sketching some flowers on my pot. I first made two pinch pots and then connected them with the slip-and-score technique. After I connected my pots I spent a long time smoothing the sphere I created. I repeated this process again for my second pot. Next, I carved a squiggly line to detach the lid of my pot. Again, I smoothed the edges very well. I made small handles for both pots that I attached to the top, and I made a base for one of the pots. I let my pots dry to the leather-hard stage, and then I started to carve my design into them. I chose my design because I didn't come up with any other design I liked, and I ended up having to just choose one. Once my pots were fired I glazed them with glaze C-21. I intended on glazing them both differently but accidentally glazed them both the same color without thinking.
Overall I am pretty happy with how my pots turned out. I think I did a good job for it being one of my first projects. If I had to change something I would change my design. I think I rushed myself when it came to my design and wasn't giving myself time to think enough.
