Photography 2

Photo 2 Final Reflection:

Do you feel like your experience in Photography II was successful?  Explain.

Yes, I feel very successful after completing this class. I learned so much about film that I didn't know before and it makes me feel accomplished. I plan to do a photography independent study next year because I enjoyed this class so much.

What was the hardest thing for you in taking this course?  How did you overcome this difficulty to be successful?

The hardest thing for me in this course was rolling the film. I struggled a lot with this, and still can't do it well on my own. Another thing that turned out to be a struggle was keeping up with the semester-long assignments. I forgot about them and had to catch up at the end.

What was your favorite project this year?   Why?

My favorite project this year was challenge #9, or the into film. I found challenge # 9 to be fun because it was very open-ended and kinda like a scavenger hunt. I also liked the intro to film project because I had never done anything like it before and I ended up really liking it.

What was your least favorite?  Why?

My least favorite assignment was the nothingness assignment because I had a lot of trouble with photoshop on this one. I had problems with getting both of the images lined up to look realistic.

How has your understanding of photography (composition, technique, process) and your appreciation of photography (the work of other photographers) been impacted by this class?  Be specific.

My understanding and appreciation have heightened after taking this class. I learned about what kinds of compositions make a good photo and gained an appreciation for the photo-taking process.  You often have to take many photos of something to come up with one that you are happy with, it's more of a process than people realize.
