Artist Statement 

With my inquiry being winter, I decided to make a little christmas village. I got the inspiration for this from a little christmas scene with light-up houses that I have in my house as a christmas decoration. It has yellow light that comes out the windows and a little christmas tree in the center.  I used those ideas in my art but made the houses completely unique. I used pencil to sketch it out before making the outline in thin sharpie. Once I had the outline done I colored it in with marker. I made the houses bright colors to go along with my inquiry of How do abstract colors make winter scenes more interesting.  I was planning on making the hills look snowy but I ended up doing them green. Maybe the snow hasn't come yet or it is set in a warm place.
