Circle Project

Artist Statement:

I struggled with the idea of what to carve into my stamps. I eventually landed on nature designs after some trial and error. Overall it doesn't look organic/natural because I presented it in bold colors. 

I made stamps out of linoleum material that my neighbor had. I made a bunch of different circular designs and chose four to carve and print. I didn't have many options for ink colors so I used what I had. 

 I didn't go into this with a strong plan, I kinda figured it out as I went. After I did all the printing, it looked too simple/bland to me so I decided to add more. I traced in more circles with a sharpie and added intricate designs.
