Eccentric Teapot

For this assignment, we were to design and create a teapot based on specific objects or a specific theme. It could be functional or sculptural but needed to include a handle, lid, and spout. I chose to make my teapot based on Winnie the Pooh. I played around with a few different ideas for the lid, but ultimately decided to have it be Winnies body upside down, as if he got stuck in the honey pot. I decided to glaze my teapot with classic Winnie the Pooh colors so it was easily recognizable as what it is supposed to be.  

The whole process went smoothly. The only change that I had to make during construction is make it sculptural rather than actually functional. I was planning on having a working teapot, but the spout dried out to much before I could make the hole, and I think I made it too thin anyways.
