Slab

For the slab project we made mugs and platters. We learned how to use the slab roller in order to make easy and even slabs. In order to make a plate/platter all you have to do is roll out a slab and drape it over a platter mold thing of your choice, then cut it to desired size/shape. After it becomes leatherhard, you can take it off and make a foot of sorts. For the mugs, you have to roll a slab for the base and for the main part of the mug. Make the slab into a cylinder shape and slip and score it onto the base slab, the cut away the extra. Next you make a handle and slip and score it onto the mug.
