Artist Statement 

My prompt was to draw a penguin and a donkey playing hockey. Personally I love hockey. I've grown up with t being  a big part of my life. My dad plays hockey. I don't play on a team but we have a rink in our backyard in the winter. I also enjoy watching the NHL. This is a big reason why I picked this prompt. 

I started with a very light sketch and had trouble making the donkey look anywhere close to accurate so I looked up a picture to go by. I used different drawing pencils to get a range of shades. 

I was originally planning on making the donkey on its hind legs holding the hockey stick. This idea proved to be difficult for me so I ended up drawing him on all fours holding the stick with his mouth. I also didn't have the goalie gear on the penguin at the beginning. I added it so he didn't get a slap shot to the knee cap.
