18 and 28 Gauge Annealed Wire

The inspiration I got to create this stuffed animal bunny out of metal wire was from the assignment to create whatever object one wanted to make.  I made a stuffed animal bunny because  I've always loved my own bunny stuffed animal and I thought it would be fun to create something that looked somewhat similar to the animal. Which I thought was perfect for this project because you could imagine horizontal slices of the animal and metal could recreate that pretty efficiently.

The materials I used to create this bunny were 18 gauge annealed wire for the overall structure and form of the body. This is because the bunny needs a stronger and thicker wire to support the weight of the wire. I also used a 28 gauge annealed wire for the finer details on the bunny, for instance, I used it for the eyes, the nose, as well as my signature to make this project look more realistic.

My process didn't take a lot of steps, although it was difficult at a few points. My first step was practicing how to use wire to form things where I made a  wire cube by making fish hooks with either side of the wire ends and adding the wire together. Once I practiced this with the tools I was given to bend and break the wire, I chose something to create, a bunny stuffed animal. I was given the 18 gauge annealed wire to form the body of the bunny followed by adding the thinner, more malleable wire where I added specific features.
