Paper Sculpture

Idea generations

Little Piglet

Newspaper, tape, and wire

5" x 5" x 3"

My inspiration for this paper sculpture of a piglet came from my like of pigs. I have always liked this animal and I thought it would be fun to replicate it in this way. I chose to either make a pig or an elephant with my idea generations shown on the top left. I decided to create a pig because I liked the color and composition better than an elephant.

The materials I used to create the Little Piglet consisted of bunched-up newspaper and tape to make the armature. As well as the pink tissue paper for the surface of the pig. And the last material I used was wire for the tail of the pig.

My process for this paper sculpture didn't take a lot of time. My first step was creating my idea generations where I then began to make an armature out of newsprint and tape with the idea I chose. After this, I taped on many layers of pink tissue paper and got a section of wire where I twirled it up into a pigtail.
