Objectives:
Trim other bowl
Try to salvage the other bowl
Throw some more
Week 20 Reflection:
I trimmed the other bowl and did manage to get some sort of foot on it, although I know it wasn't my best work but I was being cautious because I knew the bottom was thinner than it should be, and the week prior I'd gone straight through the bottom of the other. Anyways, with that same bowl, tripped a little bit while it was in my hands and put a good size dent/gouge/imperfection in the side of it, which I tried to remedy by just doing vertical cut outs along the entire outside to have some symmetry, but again, I used too much pressure and accidentally carved through the side of the bowl. I had to reaaproach and just do that in a pattern around the rest of the bowl to make it more intentional. With the other bowl that I'd trimmed right through the week prior, I just cleaned up the inside edge I carved through, along with the rest of the bowl, and plan to fire it just like that and maybe test some glazes on it. Altough both bowls I threw last week are technically not functioning, it was still useful to test my flexibility and problem solving skills, as well as realize that I should probably trim and carve with a lighter hand. We had a snow day on Thursday so I didn't get to throw anything else.
