Week Nineteen

Week 19 Reflection:

It was an odd week with a two-hour delay one day and I think I missed another class period due to an illness, but regardless I was able to throw two bowls that I actually really liked and was proud of. It was definetly a rough start because it had been so long since I'd thrown a bowl, let alone throne on the wheel at all, so I had some mishaps, but didn't let it get to me, I trimmed away my messups, and continued with what I had to make somethings that I saw good potential in. Unfortunately, due to my lack of trimming skills, and the softeness of the clay (this batch was so so so so soft I'm not sure why, it was straight from the bags on the tables), I accidentialy carved right through the bottom of one of the bowls, which was incredibly sad. So next week I'm going to figure out a way to salvage the piece in some way eventhough it will never be a functioning bowl.
