Duck Stamp

With this work, I tried to create an accurate scientific depiction of an Emperor Goose to submit in the Junior Duck Stamp Competition.

I started out researching and finding reference photos. I figured out a way to draw the duck using reference photos without copying them, I started drawing the basic shapes and outlines until I was happy with it. I wanted to have the feathers be accurate but I did not do a good job. 

I went through a lengthy process of trying to add more when I didn't need it which ended up making the piece look bad. I finished rather quickly but was still forced to fill in class time so I tried. fixing things that didn't need to be fixed, which turned this into an inaccurate, and rather hard to look at piece of work.
