Throughout this unit using linear perspective, we were figuring out how to realistically draw a one-point perspective drawing, whether that be basic shapes, a room, or a hallway.
For my school perspective piece, I first took a picture of the hallway I wanted to draw, I then printed it out and started drawing. I first had to make sure my vanishing point was in the right spot. Since my hallway had two doorways I had to make sure that the opening for that was straight and proportional because we were scaling up from our printed pictures. after I drew that and made sure my lines were straight with a ruler I could start drawing the windows and the ceiling. After all of my basic lines were down I had to go over and make come of them darker, some thicker, some darker and thicker, and all straight. Something that was really hard for me to draw was the doors, The proportions, and the angles especially because e they were not open straight on. I used all graphite for this piece.
One thing that I had to practice a lot was the doors. To be completely honest I had no idea what I was doing when it came time to draw them it took a lot of trial and error before I even came close to thinking I was even remotely successful, and even after that I still did an incredible amount of revising and redrawing, I even started completely over at one point. Making sure they were both the same length was also a really big challenge. One more challenge that I was faced with was making sure that all the lines were straight, where they should be, and every line that didn't need to be there was erased.
