Certain Samurai abilities work on a mechanic called Draw Out, representing a closed, passive stance that suddenly breaks into a powerful offensive attack. Draw Out can only be used with a Katana, Knife, Sword, Greatsword, Rapier or Polearm. Draw Out can also not be used if there is anything in the Off-Hand, such as a secondary weapon or a shield (but can be used with a 2H weapon such as a Greatsword or Polearm). Draw Out effects apply only to the first attack used in a round. Non-weapon abilities (such as Warding Circle or Spellcasting) may be used prior to the Draw Out.

Spirit Bind
Feature - Support Ability
Description:
Effect: When a creature is KO'd in the character's Rampart, it creates a Bound Spirit in that square. The Spirit is intangible and can move through other creatures and may occupy the same square as another creature. A Bound Spirit counts as an adjacent enemy for abilities that give bonuses to adjacent enemies, but cannot be targeted or affected by abilities, and do not take damage or block line of sight. A character may have one Bound Spirit per Samurai Rank. Bound Spirits disappear when a new one is created after the maximum is reached, or if the character is KO'd.

Description:
Effect: All currently active Bound Spirits can move up to 2 spaces.
Combat Cognition
Feature - Simple Action - Range 5
Effect: The Samurai can detect what Reaction ability an enemy has.

Description:

On Hit: Adds +5 ACC to all further attacks in this chain.

Description:
Damage: Normal damage
On Hit: Further attacks in this chain gain +PA damage.

Showdown
Iaido - Static 1 - Range 3
Description:
Effect: MND+20 vs. SPR save or the target must spend its next Move action to move directly towards the Samurai. The target will follow the safest, most efficient path to end adjacent to the Samurai, but will stop for Rampart if no other option is available.
Prime: Range increases to 5. Gain +5 MND per enemy in the Samurai's Rampart.
Break - Greatest Challenge: Affects all enemies in range.
Iai Strike
Iaido - Chain 1 - PA - Weapon Range
Description:
Damage: Normal damage
Draw Out: This attack gains +ACC equal to your total bonuses to Initiative.
Prime: Draw Out bonus also applies to damage.
The Sun Rises
Iaido - Chain 1 - PA - Weapon Range
Description:
Damage: Normal Damage.
Draw Out - On Hit: Increase ACC by +10 for the rest of the turn.
Prime: Draw Out bonus increases by 2 for each enemy in the Samurai's Rampart.
The Sun Sets
Iaido - Finisher 1 - PA - Weapon Range
Description:
Damage: Normal damage.
On Hit: Deals additional damage equal to all ACC bonuses accumulated through this chain.
Break - Sunset's Blossom: Deals additional damage equal to the Samurai's total ACC in addition to bonuses accumulated through this chain.
Maelstrom
Iaido - Finisher 1 - PA - Weapon Range
Description
Damage: Normal damage
On Hit: Enemies adjacent to the Samurai other than the target take Knockback 1 and MA*2 damage (no evade).
Break - White Whorl: Deals an additional MA*2 to the initial target for each enemy knocked back this way.
Nothing Ventured
Iaido - Counter - Static 2 - Self
Description
Effect: The Samurai cannot evade attacks this turn--treat his EVA as if it were 0. If the Samurai is attacked with a Physical melee ability, the Samurai first makes an attack as an Interrupt at full ACC against the target, dealing an additional 2*PA damage. Nothing Ventured can trigger a number of times in a round equal to the Samurai's Action Slots.
Prime: Removes the limit to the number of times this ability can trigger.
Break - Turning Swallow Cut
Iaido - Interrupt - Counter - PA - Weapon Range - Break
Description
Damage: Normal damage
Trigger: The Samurai is targeted with a melee attack or ability.
Effect: If Turning Swallow Cut KO's the target, the Samurai gains +10 to his next Initiative roll.
Break - Polaris Single Blade
Iaido - Finisher 1 - PA - Weapon Range - Break
Description
Damage: Normal damage
On Hit: The target's Initiative is reduced to zero, but has no additional effect if the target has already acted this round. Creates a Bound Spirit adjacent to the Samurai. If the target is KO'd by Polaris Single Blade, creates a Bound Spirit in all empty squares adjacent to the Samurai.

Spirit Blade

Description:
Damage: Deals PA*WP unaspected Magic damage.
Break - Sky's Song: If this attack KOs an Undead enemy, it is instantly reduced to 0 LP and destroyed. Snuffs KO'd Undead.
Cutting Bamboo

Description:
Damage: Normal damage.
Draw Out: If this attack KO's an enemy, the Samurai gains an additional Action Slot this turn.
Prime: Draw Out bonus changes to: "If this attack KO's an enemy, gains an additional Action Slot, and may move up to his MOV."
Moonlight Cut

Description:
Damage: Normal damage.
Effect: Ignores any ACC impairing effects on the Samurai, such as Blind.
Draw Out: Moonlight Cut is no-evade.
Warding Circle
Iaido - Static 2 - MA - Self - Area 2
Description:
Effect: Creates a Warding Circle that reaches 2 squares out from the Samurai's position. The Samurai has +10 ACC and +10 DEX to targets inside the circle. Undead- and Fiend- type creatures that enter the circle take (MA*2) damage upon enter and each time they roll initiative. The Warding Circle disappears after 4 rounds, if the Samurai leaves it, or if the Samurai is KO'd.

Description:
Effect: 100%: The character may immediately make a move action, ending adjacent to the creature. This movement takes place of the character's normal movement on their turn.

Description:
Damage: Half damage.
On Hit: DEX vs. SPR save or dispel one of the target's conditions.
Prime: +5 DEX per enemy in the Samurai's Rampart.
Hasso
Iaido - Full Round Action - PA - Stance: Self
Description:
Damage: Normal damage.
Effect: Grants Brave and Faith, and prevents the Samurai from having to roll for Exhaust when using Soul Blade abilities. Hasso can be canceled as a Simple Action.
Spirit Blade
Iaido - Simple Action - PA
Description:
Effect: The Samurai consumes an adjacent Bound Spirit into his blade. Removes one stack of Exhaust from the Samurai and prevents additional Exhaust from accumulating this turn.
Triple Tiger
Iaido - Finisher 1 - PA - Weapon Range
Description:
Damage: Half damage. Strikes three times.
Prime: Each attack deals an additional PA damage for each enemy in the Samurai's Rampart.
Soul Blade: Kotetsu
Iaido - Chain 1 - PA - Weapon Range
Description:
Damage: Normal damage.
Draw Out - On Hit: DEX vs. SPR or Confuse (4).
Effect: Attacks this chain do not trigger shake-off rolls for Confuse. 30%: Causes Exhaust 1 to the Samurai. This ignores immunity to Exhaust.

Description:

Draw Out: This attack deals Normal Lightning damage instead.
Draw Out - On Hit: Launches a bolt of lightning, dealing MA*8 Lightning damage to a creature within Range 3.
Effect: 30%: Causes Exhaust 1 to the Samurai. This ignores immunity to Exhaust.
Break - Shooting Star
