A job without a description.
A tavern minstrel, fair of voice and nimble of finger, is only half the picture of the true Bard. Bards trace their lineage back to the first bowmen who sang to strengthen the will of their companions while in the thralls of battle. The Bard is known for his ability to fortify all his companions with unique effects based simply on the songs he sings. These songs can provide effects ranging from simply raising the alertness and response speed of his companions to striking against his enemies with a sonic barrage. The Bard is a true virtuoso of utility and charm.
Bardsongs have their range increased by 2. In addition, if the Bard has an Instrument equipped, they can continue Bardsongs even while Silenced, and can cast spells while Singing.
The Bard also rolls an additional die when making performance-related Social checks.
At Rank 5, the Bard may select a Job Paradigm Shift, replacing some of their Feature abilities. The character may select neither, or one of:
Performer: A troubadour that combines song and dance to simultaneously enhance allies and enfeeble foes.
Minstrel: A singer that focuses on weaving several songs together to combine their effects.
Jester: A goof-off that really isn't good for anything... except when they are.
Bardsongs cannot be used if the character is Silenced or otherwise cannot act. The character cannot cast spells while singing.
Melodist abilities can only be used when a Bardsong is active.
