Stepping out of the arena and onto the battlefield, Gladiator's bring their prowess in one-on-one combat to the battlefield, challenging enemies to single combat. The Gladiator is a powerful ally to have if your task requires holding one enemy in place so the rest of the team can move on to higher value targets.
Abilities
Challenges
The Gladiator has several abilities called Challenges that modify the way Provoke behaves.
- The Gladiator may only have one Challenge active at a time--using a new Challenge overwrites and ends the currently active one.
- Active Challenge effects trigger when either a Provoke is triggered (an enemy Provoked to the Gladiator makes an attack that does not include the Gladiator in it) or when Rampart is triggered. These are noted by On Trigger.
- Some Challenges also have passive effects. These are noted by the Effect.
Gladiator Feature Abilities
Duelist
Feature
Effect: The Gladiator gains certain bonuses and penalties when they Provoke an enemy.
- The Gladiator gains +10 ACC and +10*Rank damage when using Champion abilities against their target.
- The Gladiator has -10 EVA against any attack originating from a character other than his target.
- The Gladiator has -20 ACC, DEX, and MND against any target other than his target.
- Additional bonuses may also occur depending on the Champion ability.

Accumulate
Innate - Champion - Chain 1 - PA - Weapon Range - Chain Bonus
Description:
Damage: Normal damage.
On Hit: Adds +PA as bonus damage to all further attacks in this chain. This bonus stacks with further uses of Accumulate.
Focus Strike
Innate - Champion - Chain 1 - PA - Weapon Range - Chain Bonus
Description:
Damage: Normal damage.
On Hit: Adds +5 ACC to all further attacks in this chain. This bonus stacks with further uses of Focus Strike.
Provoke
Innate - Champion - Simple Action - Range 3
Description:
Effect: DEX+20 vs. SPR: Provoke (4).
Defensive Strike
Champion - Chain 1 - PA - Weapon Range - Chain Bonus
Description:
Damage: Half damage.
Effect: Defensive Strike has -10 ACC. Once per turn, the character gains +5 EVA until the end of this round.
Headwind
Champion - Chain 1 - PA - Melee Range
Description:
Damage: Half damage.
On Hit: Once per turn, Knockback 1. The Gladiator moves into the space that the target formerly occupied.
Gladiator's Charge
Champion - Static 1 - PA - Charge 4
Description:
Damage: Normal damage.
Effect: The Gladiator charges four squares in a straight line towards the target prior to this attack. If the target is Provoked to the character, they may charge six squares instead.
Threatening Challenge
Challenge - Simple Action
Description:
On Trigger: The Gladiator can move two spaces before making their free attack. They may do this any number of times, if the Provoke is triggered multiple times.
Brave Challenge
Challenge - Simple Action
Description:
Effect: The Gladiator cannot evade attacks made from his Provoked target. Critical range is increased by 5% against his challenge, and the Gladiator deals an additional PA*2 damage when attacking his challenge.
Break - Blade Flash
Champion - Static 2 - Range 0 - Area 3
Description:
Effect: DEX vs. SPR or Blind (4). Enemies Provoked to the Gladiator have -40 to the save.
Break - Iron Tempest
Champion - Simple Action - Self
Description:
Effect: The Gladiator gains one Action Slot and has no ACC deterioration this round against his Provoked target.
If his Provoked target is KO'd during the Gladiator's turn, the Gladiator may immediately use Provoke as a free action, move up to his MOV towards that target, and continue his attack chain.

Phalanx I
Champion - Static 1 - Self
Description:
Effect: Gain Phalanx I (4), which decreases damage taken by Provoked targets by 10.
Tag In
Champion - Chain 1 - Self
Description:
Effect: Swap positions with an adjacent ally. Tag In can only be used once per turn.
Prime: If you are adjacent to your Provoked target after using Tag In, Tag In is a Free Action instead.
Fight or Flight
Champion - Chain 1 - PA - Weapon Range - Chain Bonus
Description:
Damage: Normal damage.
Effect: If this attack misses, the next attack in the chain gets +10 ACC and +PA damage.
Wild Swing
Champion - Finisher 1 - PA - Self Area 1
Description:
Damage: Normal Damage.
Effect: This attack has -10 ACC.

Support Ability
Description:
Effect: When you have any target Provoked, you gain +40 RES and SPR to Mystify-type effects from any creature other than your target.
War Declaration
Reaction Ability - Requires: Provoke
Description:
Trigger: The character is Provoked by another creature.
Effect: 100%: The creature who Provoked the character is now Provoked to the character.
Follow Up
Champion - Immediate Action - Melee Range -
Description:
Trigger: An ally attacks your Provoked target, and no other target this round.
Effect: 100%: You make a free basic attack against your target.
Wall of Blades
Champion - Chain 2 - PA - Melee Range
Description:
Damage: Normal damage.
On Hit: One ally adjacent to you may make a basic attack against any target in their weapon range at full ACC.
War Stomp
Champion - Finisher 1 - PA - Weapon Range
Description:
Damage: Normal damage, plus additional damage equal to the user's DEF.
Effect: The user suffers Meltdown (4). This is unavoidable, even if the user is somehow immune to Meltdown.
Riot Blade
Champion - Finisher 1 - PA - Weapon Range
Description:
Damage: Normal damage.
Effect: If this attack KOs the target and the target was Provoked to the character, all enemies within Range 2 of the Gladiator: DEX vs. SPR to cause Fear.
Spiteful Challenge

Description:
Effect: After Initiative is rolled, the Gladiator may choose to change their Initiative so they take their turn immediately after their Provoked target's turn.
Harrying Challenge

Description:
Effect: Gain Rampart.
On Trigger: Rampart attacks (but not Provoke triggers) deal an additional PA*4 damage.

On Hit: If the target is Provoked to you, move one space directly away from them. Then, they move into the space you vacated.
Bladeblitz
Description:
Damage: Half damage.
Effect: Makes a number of attacks against a single target equal to the character's Action Slots plus one. All attacks utilize full ACC.
Prime: The Gladiator deals full damage to a provoked target.
Fire Soul
Champion - Finisher 2 - PA - Melee Range - Requires: Ally in range of target can cast a Fire-elemental spell

Damage: Normal Fire Physical damage.
On Hit: Your ally immediately casts any Fire-element spell centered on the target.
Prime: Provoke the target as a free action (no save). If the target was already Provoked to you, they gain Ignition (4) prior to your ally's attack.
Blizzard Blade

Description:
Damage: Normal Ice Physical damage.
On Hit: Your ally immediately casts any Ice-element spell, centered on the target.

Thunder Assault

Damage: Normal Thunder Physical damage.
On Hit: Your ally immediately casts any Thunder-element spell centered on the target.
Prime: Provoke the target as a free action (no save). If the target was already Provoked to you, they must save DEX vs. RES or Shock (4).
Break - Grand Finale

Effect: All allies (including the user) in range of your Provoked target may make a single basic attack at full ACC against them.
Break - Challenge for Supremacy

Description:
Effect: You gain Supremacy (4) - Whenever a creature Provoked to you successfully deals damage to you, you may make a basic attack against them at full ACC.

Effect: The Gladiator may select a Job Paradigm Shift, replacing some of their Feature abilities. The character may select neither, or one of:
Fencer: Fleet of foot duelists that use their rapier to outmaneuver the greatest of foes.
Hero: Behind every king and queen, there's a Hero--protectors of nobility and saviors of the land.
Defiant Challenge

Description:
Effect: If the target dealt damage to any target other than the Gladiator this round, the Gladiator gains +20 ACC and +20 EVA vs. their target.
Enraging Challenge
Challenge - Simple Action
Description:
Effect: When the Gladiator moves, the target immediately moves one square towards the Gladiator. The target will not move into obvious danger in doing so (off a cliff or into a visible bear trap, for example), and will instead move around it. This movement is considered a forced movement and as such does not trigger Rampart effects.
