1 1/2 pound extra lean ground beef
1 small onion, diced
Salt and pepper
3 cloves garlic, minced
2 diced large jalepeno peppers
3/4 cup ketchup
dash of Worcestershire sauce
2 tablespoons brown sugar
1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
1 1/2 cups water
1 1/2 teaspoon salt, or to taste
1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
1/8 cup of gochujang sauce or paste
1/4 cup of chopped fresh basil
cayenne to taste
1. add onion and ground beef to a cold saute pan. cook until lightly browned, almost done.
2. add S&P, garlic, peppers. cook for 2 minutes.
3. add ketchup, Worcestershire, sugar water and mustard. Cook 5 minutes
4. add more salt to taste and pepper to taste and cook for 10 minutes.
5. add gochujang and cayenne, then cook 10 more minutes.
6. continue cooking until there is no watery consistency and just a meat paste remains.
7. Add basil at last minute and serve on a soft bun
