Pawnee Amateur Radio Club

The Pawnee Amateur Radio Club met in person on July 11th, in the Platte County EOC. Club president, Dave AC0TF, called the meeting to order at 7:00 pm.
Role was called by KD0OBA. Members Present – AC0TF, KD0OBA, WD0AAH, KF0GCK, KA0TWD, N0RHK
Treasurer K7CLP submitted his report previously . Treasurer K7CLP collected dues payments for 2023.
Old Business
DStar - 2 meter is still off-line. KD0OBA will contact NI0P to see if he can help.
Discussed issues with limited range and slow disconnect after transmission on 146.640 repeater.
New Business
KD0OBA presented that Sam Cowen W0OAJ would like to organize an amateur radio information class to be held November 6th, 2023. Sam would like the PARC to help get the word out.
Discussed club attendance at the North Bend HAM swap meet. The PARC had a good turn-out with KF0GCK, WD0AAH, ACOTF, KA0TWD, N0RHK attending.
KA0TWD suggested considering meeting at the new Columbus Community facility (new library) for our next club meeting in October. The new facility has three general purpose conference rooms and allows for better accessibility (no stairs). Not a formal motion, but all in attendance agreed with looking into it further.
With no further business, a motion to adjourn was made by KD0OBA seconded by KA0TWD. Motion carried.
Program
Homebrew amateur radio antennas. KD0OBA displayed a 40 meter end fed half-wave and a 10 meter J-pole antenna that he had constructed. AC0TF displayed a 2 meter portable copper J-pole antenna that he had constructed.
