Tomahawk Battery

Constructed in 1942 and the installation of two 6-inch Mk-VII guns was completed in September 1942. The Tomahawk Battery was camouflaged to look like a beach house and shed.

In December 1944, one of the guns was removed and sent to Auckland. It was replaced by a similar model from the battery at Bluff. The guns were dismantled in 1945.

The gun emplacements are on public land, but the observation post and magazine are on private land.
