We are looking for a post-doc that will be working on QSAR modeling and risk assessment of chemicals, in the framework of a European LIFE project on chemical substitution (VERMEER) which is about to start. Candidates should have a twofold background knowledge and be familiar with the application of QSAR models in regulatory contexts (e.g. REACH regulation) and with chemical risk assessments in toxicology and ecotoxicology. Therefore, to be eligible, applicants need to hold a doctorate degree in one of the areas that are related to the know-how required for the two aforementioned tasks (i.e. PhD in “QSAR modeling” and/or in “chemical risk assessment”)
The main objectives of LIFE VERMEER are:
- To implement a program to substitute risky chemicals by identifying chemical moieties and features associated to the adverse effect of the chemical
- To implement a program that will merge the VEGA software (https://www.vegahub.eu/) for hazard evaluation with the MERLINExpo software for exposure assessment (https://merlin-expo.eu/).
The working contract will start in January 2018 for a duration of 18 months and applicants are invited to submit their CV and a cover letter to
