Swiss Style Pork Steaks Recipe
4 pork blade steaks, cut ½ to ¾” thick
1 tablespoon shortening
1 can (16 oz) tomatoes, cut up
1cup coarsely chopped onion
½ cup coarsely chopped celery
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
1 teaspoon salt
¼ teaspoon pepper
1 teaspoon dried basil
1 clove minced garlic
In 12” skillet, brown steaks in hot oil over moderate heat. Stir in undrained tomatoes, onion, celery, Worcestershire sauce, salt, pepper, basil and garlic. Bring to boiling. Cover; reduce heat and simmer until pork is tender, about 45 to 60 minutes.
