Cinnamon Rolls
Ingredients
2 cups warm water
2 Tablespoons dry yeast
1/2 c. Sugar
1 stick of melted butter
1 egg
1 1/2 tsp salt
4 1/2 c. flour
Filling Ingredients
1/4 cup Butter
1 cup Brown Sugar
1 Tablespoon Cinnamon
Icing
2 cups powdered sugar
4 Tablespoons of milk
1/2 - 1 tsp maple flavoring
Stir together and drizzle on cinnamon rolls
Directions
1. In large mixing bowl proof the yeast (warm water, yeast and sugar)
2. Add melted butter
3. Mix in egg, salt and 1 cup of flour at a time adding enough flour to make a sticky consistency.
4. let dough rest for 20-30 mins.
5. Flour the counter you want to work on
6. Turn out dough on floured surface. If needed knead more flour in the dough - but it should be soft.
7. Roll out dough - 1/2 inch thick
8. Spread the filling ingredients on top of the dough.
9. Roll up like a log.
10. Cut 1/2" thick
11. Place on greased cookie sheet
12. Let it rise for 20 - 30 minutes.
13. Place in preheated 350° oven and bake for 20-30 minutes.
