Junior Debate Tournament (Grades 7-9)

St. Paul’s High School

Time: Tuesday, December 2, 2025. Registration from 4:00 to 4:30. Awards around 8:30 PM

Location: St. Paul’s High School, 2200 Grant Ave., Winnipeg

Constructive speeches may be no longer than six minutes and final rebuttals may be no longer than three minutes.

This tournament will consist of two impromptu rounds. Students will be given fifteen minutes to prepare after the motions are announced. There will be no novice category. 

Schools may enter a maximum of three (3) teams total, although more spots may be available. Should a school wish to send more than three teams, please email me at amcgill@stpauls.mb.ca; you will be contacted if there is available space.

Schools are reminded that they must bring at least one judge per team. Judges may be Grade 10-12 students who have debate experience. More judges than the minimum are graciously welcomed.

Coaches, please register your debaters at SPHS Junior Debate Tournament Registration  – Fill in form and fill out the registration form by November 28th.
