Junior Debate Tournament (Grade 7 - 9)

Time: Tuesday, November 4th, 2025. Registration 4:30-5:00

Location: Bison Run School 70 Frontier Trail, Winnipeg

Resolution: Two prepared rounds: This house would stop focusing on recycling.

Constructive speeches may be no longer than six minutes and final rebuttals may be no longer than three minutes.

The tournament will have both novice and open categories. The novice category is open to students in their first year of debate. All other debaters must register in open. POIs are welcome in the open category, but not in novice category.

Schools may enter a maximum of two (2) teams total, although more spots may be available. Should a school wish to send more than two teams, please email me at khill-duehrsen@pembinatrails.ca; you will be contacted if there is available space.

Schools are reminded that they must bring at least one judge per team. Judges may be Grade 10-12 students who have debate experience. More judges than the minimum are graciously welcomed.
