Sr. Fort Richmond Collegiate Impromptu Debate Tournament

Time: Sunday, February 5th. Registration from 12:30pm to 1:00pm in the library. Awards at approximately 5:00pm.

Location: Fort Richmond Collegiate, 99 Killarney Ave Winnipeg MB, R3T 3B3 (Please enter through the parking lot doors at the back of the school).

Resolution: Two Impromptu Rounds.

The preparation time for the resolutions will be from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm. THIS MEANS THAT TEAMS THAT ARRIVE LATE, I.E. AFTER 1:30 pm, MAY NOT BE ABLE TO TAKE PART.

Speaking times for all debates will be a maximum of 6 minutes for constructive speeches and 3 minutes for rebuttals.Points of information are allowed in the open category. (They are described in the parliamentary rules available on the MSDA website (Manitoba Speech & Debate Association - MSDA Debate Guide (google.com).

Schools may send a maximum of 3 teams in total, depending upon numbers, it may be possible to send additional teams. If you would like to do so, please indicate this on the Google form and include your phone number or email address. You will be contacted if extra space is available. Schools must bring at least one judge per team. If this presents a problem, please contact us and we will see if other arrangements can be made. Judges may be anyone who is no longer a high school student.
