Jr Tournament at St. Pauls

Time: Thursday, November 08th. Registration from 4:30 to 5:00. Awards around 8:30 PM

Location: St. Paul’s High School, 2200 Grant Ave., Winnipeg

Resolution: Two prepared rounds: THB Canadian essential service workers should be banned from using cannabis.

The debate format is Manitoban Parliamentary; rules and expectations can be found on the MSDA website at https://sites.google.com/site/manitobadebate/resources-for-debaters-and-coaches/rules-and-scoresheets/parliamentary-debate-rules .

The tournament will have both novice and open categories. The novice category is open to students in grades six and seven or teams for whom this is their first year of debate. All other debaters must register in open.

Schools may enter a maximum of three (3) teams total, although more spots may be available. Should a school wish to send more than three teams, please indicate that in the registration survey; you will be contacted if there is available space.

Schools are reminded that they must bring at least one judge per team. Judges may be grade 10-12 students. More judges than the minimum are graciously welcomed.
