1 You can live for pleasure every day,

you can build on golden sand;

but the one who builds on solid rock

is the one whose house will stand.

2 For the rain will fall and rivers rise,

though you don't know when or how;

and the only way to safety then

is to build on Jesus now.

3 If you try to do the things he says,

digging deep beneath the sand,

then the storms of life may buffet you

but your house will always stand.
