1 Welcome Jesus, holy Prophet,

joy of heaven revealed on earth;

long ago through faithful servants

God foretold your humble birth.

Our creator and deliverer,

born as Mary's tiny Son,

dawning light for every nation:

you are Christ, all-powerful one.

2 Welcome Jesus, Priest eternal,

pure and sinless, undefiled,

whom the shepherds called by angels

worshipped first as infant child.

No-one else could ever suffer

to redeem as you have done,

for your wounds have healed the guilty:

you are Christ, all-perfect one.

3 Prince of Peace! You were rejected,

scorned in Herod's royal court,

honoured only by the homage

some intrepid strangers brought:

yet today your church exalts you

Saviour, God's ascended Son:

welcome Jesus, King of glory,

Lord of love, all-precious one!
