All round the world we sing for joy
Psalm 122
(BROTHER JAMES'S AIR)
(BROTHER JAMES'S AIR)
A prayer for the church
1 All round the world we sing for joy
and worship you, O Lord;
your people gathered as your church,
protected by your word.
We pray for peace, as we unite
to serve with one accord.
2 We bring the praise of grateful hearts
now reconciled to you,
Lord, guide our thoughts, and let our speech
be generous, kind and true.
Come Spirit, let your justice rule
our lives in all we do.
3 We pray for peace, that so your church
may prosper and extend;
and ask for grace at home, at work,
for family and friend;
desiring deeper harmony,
that rivalry may end.
4 Help us your church, O Christ, to shine -
a beacon in the night,
where many, touched by love outpoured,
will seek your healing light
and enter New Jerusalem,
your city of delight!
