There is no other place of peace
(NO OTHER PLACE)
(NO OTHER PLACE)
1 There is no other place of peace
where we find pardon and release
but at the cross of Christ.
O Jesus, when you shed your blood
to set us free, what cleansing flowed
to all who trust in you, our Lord,
the sinner's sacrifice.
2 There is no other rock today
on which to build our lives, and stay
secure when troubles come.
O Christ you rose, defeating death,
to fill the church with love and strength:
on you alone we can depend,
our precious cornerstone!
3 There is no other path but one
through which our Father welcomes home
the ransomed and forgiven.
O Saviour, help us learn each day
to follow humbly in your way,
and may the Holy Spirit guide
and lead us on to Heaven.

Lyric Video:
John's music for the chorus "No other place but Calvary", was composed on the piano in 1970. The words of the first verse were updated and in part re-expressed, while 2 more verses were added - "No other rock" and "No other path". We publish this song in tribute to Richard Hudson Pope, and are so grateful to the friend who in around 2020 tracked down a music copy of the CSSM chorus book for us to borrow.
